Monday

We had to take over an hour drive to San Antonio because we could not go through Antigua. They had a festival today and we had to drive around the long way.

We painted in the feeding center this morning. The feeding center is new in this area so it has a lot of work to be done to it.

Mike also showed us how to construct a lava stove. The stove is made from block and lava rock. This one is in the feeding center for the kids in the village.

When the kids came to eat they were timid of us at first. We gave them some goodies (candy) and they really warmed up. They had their rice, tortilla, veggie mix and some kind of vitamin drink mix. Then they were ready to play!

We took them by bus a little way to the village park for VBS. The park was not much, but had coffee and guacamole trees which was cool!

The VBS we did a lesson and some singing, then split the boys and girls to do crafts and a soccer game.

San Antonio is a village where they make a lot of the textiles that we bought in the market. They make them in their homes instead of big shops. Their is so much poverty here. The infrastructure is so hard to describe. Very vast in how things are constructed.

I absolutely loved today!!!
