Fellowship

Fellowship with Believers

Fellowship is not just eating and talking with fellow believers.  I think in our current church cultures this is the extent of what we understand as fellowshiping with believers.  Most churches even have a large meeting area with a kitchen attached named for this action.  But according to the Wycliffe Bible Dictionary, these actions consist of Biblical fellowship:

1.  Communion or fellowship together at the Lord's Supper (1 Cor 10:16-21)
2.  Membership in the church (Matthew 16:18)
3.  Giving (1 Tim 6:18, Heb 13:16)
4.  Ministering to the saints
  • Relief funds for other churches (Acts 11:29)
  • Help Christians in need (Romans 12:13)
  • Sharing other people's burdens (Romans 15:1)
5.  Fellowship in suffering (Philippians 3:10)
